EU gives UK two weeks to pay divorce bill

The European Union’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier has given the UK two weeks to clarify how they will pay their so called “divorce bill”.

The ultimatum has been given as the UK and EU enter the next round of negotiation talks.

Britain’s Brexit secretary David Davis said that the government had “listened carefully” to the EU, and that the UK was “ready and willing” to work with the European Parliament in Brussels.

The news comes after the Prime Minister Theresa May declared she wanted the date for Brexit- 29 March 2019- enshrined in law.
