Up your beauty game: My top 5 MUAs to follow on Instagram

If you’re a beauty fanatic, there’s no better time than now to learn how to master your makeup, and create the looks that you’ve always wanted to know how to do.

Instagram is one of the best social media platforms to get beauty inspiration with many accounts that sport immensely talented and creative looks. During the current pandemic where we’re finding ourselves housebound, you can beat the boredom by checking out these 5 beauty Instagram pages and trying out the looks for yourselves. Here is a roundup of my favourite makeup artists to follow:

Emily Rose (@emilyroseglam)

Every time I look at this account, it makes me want to pick up the colourful eyeshadow palettes that I’m usually too scared to use. With a range of vibrant eye makeup to heavy glam party looks, this MUA sure knows how to work a makeup brush. What I love about Emily’s Instagram page is that she posts step-by-step picture tutorials of the looks that she creates, really giving you an insight into how it’s done.

Vicky Sreberska (@vickymuaxo)

Although her Instagram page is fairly new, the talent that is displayed on Vicky’s account is nothing short of stunning. There are some really creative eye looks that are executed perfectly, really taking eyeshadow to the next level of genius while having fun with it in the process. Check out her page for more playful looks.

Mac Allison (@macallisonmakeup)

This MUA is most certainly not afraid to play around with colour. Mac creates an array of stunning heavy-glam looks that are far from the classic neutral brown eyeshadow and nude lip combo. He says “I prefer to push the boundaries and do more colourful creative looks and show off my skills.” Along with picture-perfect images, he has started to upload IGTV’s to talk his followers through his glam makeup products and creations.

If you don’t want to go all out with the makeup products, and just feel like learning some basic techniques then this is the account for you. With a minimal, fresh and effortless base, she uses makeup products that enhance her natural features. Her signature look is bushy brows and dewy skin with an occasional pop of colour on the lip.
