While stuck inside, isolated from our families and reading article after article with more contradicting facts about lockdown and Covid-19, it’s difficult not to feel stressed and anxious. When was the last time you read a news story that made you smile? That’s what we all need right now, something to make us smile.
Covid-19 in the South West
It may put your mind at ease to know that according to Public Health England, the South West region has the lowest amount of Covid-19 cases. Their facts also show that around the UK, the number of deaths has decreased since a particularly high point in April.
Reopening borders
Countries around the World are slowly beginning to open their borders. For now, countries are only opening borders to their neighbours or for essential travel but there are talks of more happening in June. Greece’s borders are said to be opening for international travel from July 1st and Italy is hoping to get their borders open to tourists as early as June 3rd. It may feel like our summer is not happening this year, but it is, there’s just been a small delay.
Key workers
TikTok is a new social media platform that seems to have become a craze during lockdown. The good news here is that our key workers are happy and if even our key workers are happy, how can we not be?

Dogs in China
In April, the Chinese Government announced that dogs in China would now be considered as pets not food. This may seem like old news but thousands of dogs a year will now be safe in China, being reminded of this today is enough to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Hopefully one of these stories helped you to smile today or think of another reason to be happy. Check back here tomorrow for more positive news to keep you smiling through lockdown.
