Crime rates in Cheltenham and Gloucester are well above the Gloucestershire average according to crime statistics released by the office for national statistics.
The total number of police recorded crimes per 1000 residents for Cheltenham is just over 72, rising to 79 in Gloucester, with the Gloucestershire average sat at just under 53.
The most common crimes in Cheltenham are anti-social behaviour, with 1727 people arrested, accounting for over 45% of total crimes in Cheltenham between October 2016 and September 2017.
Next on the list of highest crimes committed are violence and sexual offences, totalling 15%.
Shoplifters round up the top three as 455 people were arrested for the crime.
However the biggest surprise of all is that of all the arrests made by police, 68% resulted in no further action and just 8% of offenders were actually dealt with in court.
