Virtually every ginger-haired child will have experienced some degree of name-calling at school. For some it continues into adult life.
Last year, red-haired children in schools around the world were left beaten and bleeding after they were targeted by fellow school pupils as part of ‘Kick a Ginger Day’ – inspired by the controversial cartoon South Park. Websites and social media spread the word that the date for this hateful day is November 20th, which is only a few weeks away.
We asked students at The University of Gloucestershire whether they had heard of ‘Kick a Ginger Day’ and what they thought of the whole stereotyped agenda.
