An elderly man was assaulted with a glass bottle while out walking his dog.
The 71- year-old suffered from head injuries after being attacked on Carter Road in Cheltenham.
Police have released an e-fit to track down the offender.
The attack happened around 4.15pm on Thursday January 21.
Officers said the victim was walking his dog when approached by the attacker. After a heated discussion, the offender assaulted the pensioner with a glass bottle. The incident has left the 71-year-old concerned for his safety.
The offender is described as a white male, aged 32-40. He was of medium build and around 5ft 7ins tall.
Anyone who recognises the incident should contact Gloucestershire police on 101, quoting incident number 426 of January 22.
