A man has been jailed after admitting to the murder of his wife after nearly 12 years.
David Lancaster, 60 was jailed for murdering his wife Helen. He killed the 54-year-old at their house in the early hours of September 30 last year.
Mr Lancaster, of Kingston Road, Northway, Tewkesbury, called the police at around 4.45am where the body was found. Helen had suffered from injuries after being hit by a blunt instrument to the back of the head.
He admitted to the police that he had killed Helen and was arrested later that day in Burnham-on-sea in Somerset.
David was charged with his wife’s murder on October 2 and at a plea hearing yesterday he pleaded guilty to murder.
A spokesperson said Helen was a much loved and respected person and will be missed.
