What to do for Bonfire Night in Gloucestershire

Remember, remember the fifth of November… Fireworks displays and bonfires will be lighting up the county’s skies tomorrow night. Here are the top events taking place around Gloucestershire.

Cheltenham Racecourse:

The Round Table display is recognised as the largest in the South West region attracting a crowd in the region of 15,000 people.

Visitors can expect a fantastic fireworks show, alongside fairground attractions; music from samba drummers; hot and cold food; drinks; and children’s entertainment.

The gates open at 5:00pm, with the main event scheduled to start at 7:00pm.

Tickets will cost £6 for adults, £4 for children, and can be booked in advance to avoid queues.

Cirencester Fireworks display:

A highlight on the town’s annual calendar, Cirencester Round Table’s fantastic fireworks display is set to draw crowds in their thousands.

The display will take place at Cirencester Rugby Club. The Gates open at 5:00pm, the Bonfire will be lit at 6:00pm, and the Fireworks will be launched at 7:00pm.

On the gates, tickets will cost £8 for adults, £5 for children, or £20 for a family of four. Tickets can also be ordered online.

Tetbury Firework Display & Guy Fawkes Celebration:

Organised by the South Cotswold Rotary Club, the fireworks display is being staged by the award winning team from Events Consultants Ltd. In addition to an enormous bonfire, refreshments will be provided and a ‘best Guy’ competition.

The event will be held at Sir William Romney’s School, Tetbury. With the gates opening at 6:00pm and the fireworks starting at 7:00pm.

Tickets will be sold on the gate at a price of £5.00 for adults, or £3.00 for a child or concession.

Gloucester Docks:

Considered one of the best firework displays in the South West, the festival will be illuminating the night sky above the the famous Gloucester Docks with an amazing firework spectacular, organised by the Gloucester Round Table.

The annual event promises to delight visitors of all ages, with highlights including a dazzling display, music, laser light show, food stalls and fair.

The Display will start at 6:00pm, and finish at 9:00pm.

The cost is £6.00 for adults, £4.00 for children, and £15.00 for families. Proceeds are donated to the local community and charity.

Dursley Fireworks:

There will be a whole host of family fun activities at this year’s display in Dursley, with highlights including live music from Rednock Swing Band, a barbecue, a beer tent, a glow stall, and more.

The event is organised by the Dursley Girlguiding district, and in support of the Williams Syndrome Foundation.

Taking place at Dursley Recreation ground, the gates open at 5:00pm, with the fireworks starting at 6:00pm.

Tickets cost £5, £4 for children, and are free of charge for under threes.

Wotton-Under-Edge Firework Display:

A locally run event at Wotton Community Sports foundation, with the gates opening at 6:30pm and the main event at 8:00pm.

There will be two firework displays lasting over twenty minutes along with a large bonfire.

Ticket prices vary, adults are £5 and children £4, but cheaper tickets are available in advance.

Fern Bonfire & Firework Display:

Bring the family along to a professionally organised display organised by The Forest of Dean Lions Club and the Severn Dean Lions Club in aid of local charities.

The event will see a funfair and plenty of food, a roaring bonfire from 6pm, and fireworks from 7.30pm.

The venue is Speech House Field, Coleford, Forest of Dean. No alcohol is to be brought to the site due to its family nature.

Tickets are £6 for adults and free for primary school age children. There is also free parking.
