The race has sold out in record time with only reserved tickets remaining available. There have been concerns in previous years about runner safety, which has resulted in a record number of roads being closed as the 1,500 competitors limber up as they look to the start line.

The half-marathon is expected to cause delays with race organisers and police alike asking for your patience concerning the matter. There are many spots along the roads that make great viewing for spectators, among these is the start and finish line, Marlings School on Cainscross Road where athletes will be gathering to receive the commemorative t-shirts and the top 3 male and female runners will be awarded medals.

Both the Marathon & Half Marathon begins with a short circuit of the Town Centre, before heading under the Railway Bridge and onto the newly redeveloped Thames/Severn Canal Path towards Chalford for the Marathon and towards Stonehouse for the Half Marathon.stroud-half-marathon-plus-start-map

”This Allrunners event, a marathon in this countryside, Wow.  I’ve ran all Cotswold Allrunners other events over the last few years, which tease you with various parts of the Cotswolds, but this event offers it all, beautiful countryside, amazing views, tough hills and a great challenge”, Dan Jones speaking ahead of the race this weekend on the Cotswold AllRunners website.

The race has been successfully won on several occasions by the same runner with Paul Cuskin and Stuart Hall boasting 3 victories each in the mens race. Bronwen Cardy Wise however has won the Stroud half marathon an incredible 5 times in the women event.
