Police appeal for witnesses after Forest of Dean crash death

Gloucestershire police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal crash in which a woman died. 

The crash, which involved a car and a pedestrian, happened at around 5.30pm on the A48 between Blakeney and Newent on Severn, in the Forest of Dean yesterday.

The blue Citroen Berlingo collided with the pedestrian, causing the road to be closed for approximately five hours.

The 65-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries during the collision but died in the early hours of this morning at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Her family have been informed.

Both collision investigation officers and the ambulance service attended the incident.

The police are now appealing for witnesses who may have any information but have not yet come forward. Call 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk and quote 380 of 6 December.
