Investigation underway as reports of fire outbreak in Cirencester

A fire was reported at Kemble Drive in Cirencester this morning.

At 7:04am, a fire engine arrived on the scene just three minutes after the the incident had been reported.

Three more fire engines from nearby towns, Tetbury and Fairford, and another from Cirencester also attended to tackle the blaze with one water jet and two hose reels.

There is now an investigation underway to determine the cause of the fire, and fire crews will be remaining in the area to ensure local residents feel safe and secure in their homes.

John Beard, assistant chief fire officer, said: “This incident highlights the importance of working smoke alarms.”
