High school student reveals transgender status

Teenager Jordan Morgan from Gloucester has become the only boy in his school alongside hundreds of girls.

The 13-year-old is sending out a message for greater acceptance of transgender adolescence.

Jordan changed his name from Elizabeth/ Beth last year and no longer wants to live as a girl.

He has always identified more as a male and felt a lot more comfortable.

Morgan added that his friends have been very supportive. However he would like the school to change its uniform policy.

The current uniform policy at High School for Girls specifies that pupils, unless in sixth form must wear skirts.

Jordan will have to conform to these rules until something changes. He feels that changes to the uniform will benefit him and other students.

His mother Diane has been very supportive and admits to being proud of her son even though it has not been easy to come to terms with it.
