Gloucestershire sibling duo now proud winners of a BAFTA.

Two siblings from Cirencester have found themselves winning a BAFTA for their BBC3 comedy show This Country.

Daisy and Charlie Cooper created a “mockumentary” and have now won the Breakthrough Brit award.

The Breakthrough Brit award is a nominated award that supports and showcases the work new British creators in film, television and games.

A jury selects 20 people each year to take part in a year-long mentoring programme.

Daisy and Charlie were the winners of this category with their show This Country, a show they based on their own lives when they were growing up in the market village they lived in.

In an Instagram post, Charlie wrote: “We are truly humbled to be named as BAFTA breakthrough Brits last night alongside some super talented people…massive thanks to @bafta for a brilliant evening.”

This Country has proven to be a huge hit amongst critics, one even claiming to have had to rewind the show multiple times because they were howling with laughter during the entire episode.

Others simply found the content of the show to be relatable and hilarious.
