UPDATE: #GLOSSAYSNOMORE Gloucestershire campaigns against Domestic Violence

Organisations in Gloucestershire have come together to support the UK SAYS NO MORE Campaign with their own hashtag GLOSSAYSNOMORE

UK SAYS NO MORE is a national campaign that recognises and raises awareness for domestic violence and sexual assault, with the aim of bringing it to an end.

This years campaign has taken advantage of the major impact social media has on society. They have used platforms such as Twitter to raise awareness and to show how technology can play a role in domestic abuse.

The campaign will be taking place over a period of 16 days (25th November – 10th December 2017).

Some of the organisations taking part include:

Gloucestershire Borough Council

Cllr Flo Clucas, cabinet member for healthy lifestyles at Cheltenham Borough Council, says: “Domestic violence is a major hidden problem in society. The campaign seeks to open up discussion, inform, and give everyone the true facts of a dreadful crime, that affects women, some men, and children who experience it in their homes. A female victim will be beaten, or coerced dozens of times before seeking help. This hidden crime must be confronted and must be stopped.

Stroud Women’s Refuge
