Gloucester Rugby team fill their shirt with poppies

A shirt covered in hundreds of poppies has been made for Gloucester rugby’s fixtures in their Anglo-Welsh Cup this weekend.

This comes after FIFA have prevented England placing single poppies on their shirts for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

The shirt has been produced by their official kit supplier XBlades and displays the traditional Cherry and White hoops to make the poppy design.

The shirt costs £55 to buy from the official Gloucester Rugby shop but £5 of that will go to the Royal British Legion.

The game against Saracens on November the 5th  has been re-named Forces Day and will incorporate a military theme with a minutes silence at the start of the game, bomb blast demonstration as well as a live performance of the Last Post.
