Gloucestershire Cricket announce new contract for Aussie ace

Australian young prospect Cameron Bancroft has been handed an extended contract with Gloucestershire Cricket.

The 23 year old linked up with Glos for the opening two months of last season, and has impressed enough to earn a place for next term.

He has yet to feature for his country but has been tipped for a promising future.

His debut could come against either South Africa or Pakistan in the upcoming Tests.

In comments for the club’s press release on their website, Bancroft said:

‘Last year was fantastic to be a part of this great club.  I can’t wait to get back over and score runs for the team and hopefully continue to grow and move our way up in division 2.”

Chief Executive Will Brown added:

‘We are delighted to have signed Cameron for the 2017 season and we are looking forward to seeing him return to play in a Gloucestershire shirt.”
